Role Overview

As a Product Designer at Zip, you will be at the forefront of designing and enhancing mobile app features that help users manage their purchases, split them into installments, and track repayments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders, to design seamless and user-friendly features. Your work will be pivotal in shaping how our users experience and manage their finances.

Responsibilities

  • Design clean, simple, and beautiful UI for our mobile app.
  • Create user flows and experiences that are intuitive and delightful.
  • Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with both user needs and technical requirements.
  • Build and contribute to Zip's design system, refining and documenting scalable components.
  • Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and research experiments to validate and inform your design decisions.
  • Provide design deliverables for seamless handoff to developers, including UI specifications, interaction flows, and prototypes.
  • Lead the end-to-end design process, from ideation to final implementation.
  • Influence the product roadmap, balancing trade-offs between user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
  • Shape design team operations and processes to ensure high-quality collaboration and execution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in interaction, product, or UX/UI design.
  • Experience designing large-scale financial consumer apps (1M+ MAU).
  • Proven track record of designing complex user experiences that integrate various products or services, such as payments and budgeting.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Figma, including proficiency with variants, booleans, and sophisticated prototyping.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral psychology and how it applies to user behavior and financial habits.
  • Experience with modular design systems, helping to scale design components across teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design thinking to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with lean experiments and hypothesis-driven design to quickly iterate and validate design solutions.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $134,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience, location, and other factors).
  • Additional bonuses and equity awards may apply.
