Assembled is looking for an experienced product designer to join their UX team and contribute to designing software for customer support operations. Assembled helps companies like CashApp, Etsy, and Robinhood provide faster and better customer service by simplifying support operations through AI-powered tools. This role will involve designing new products centered around human decision-making, backed by AI, in an innovative and wide-open field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Iterate: Create, refine, and iterate on new products and features, working closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders. Your designs will have a measurable impact on the business.
- Mentorship: Mentor other designers and contribute to the growth of the product design craft at Assembled.
- User Understanding: Lead user research and share insights with the team to enhance the understanding of user needs.
- Product Stewardship: Oversee and contribute to the product experience, ensuring intuitive and durable design patterns across the product.
- Visual & Interaction Design: Improve visual and interaction design standards, contributing regularly to the design system.
About You:
- 5+ Years of Experience: Experienced in B2B software design, able to work in complex domains, and distill diverse ideas into functional design solutions.
- Zero to One Mindset: Comfortable iterating quickly in a collaborative environment and balancing scope, speed, and quality.
- Calm Under Pressure: Capable of steering teams and projects toward better outcomes, even in pressure-filled situations.
- Comfortable with Ambiguity: Can quickly grasp active projects, identify needs, and push projects forward even when the path isn’t fully defined.
- Customer Driven: Passionate about talking to users and understanding their needs, and skilled at aligning projects with user requirements.
- Detail-Oriented: Skilled in designing complex workflows and data visualizations, and thoughtful about visual design.
- Technically Curious: Understanding of web front-end technologies and the ability to collaborate with engineers to build great software.
- System Design: Comfortable designing reusable web components and familiar with Figma. React experience is a bonus.

Compensation:
- Range: $140K - $220K
