About the Growth Design Team
Stripe’s Growth team focuses on acquiring, converting, and scaling millions of users worldwide across our suite of products. We're a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, marketers, designers, and PMs working together to make it easy for people to discover and start using Stripe.
As part of the Growth Design team, you’ll help craft experiences that guide new users as they take their first steps with Stripe. Your work will bridge marketing and product experiences—from onboarding to product suggestions and beyond—ensuring users get the best possible start.
You’ll also collaborate with the larger Stripe Design team, which spans branding, research, product design, and more. Since many Stripe users are developers and builders themselves, we take pride in creating thoughtful, intuitive, and elegant user experiences.
What You’ll Do
Whether your background is in UX writing, content strategy, or information architecture, this role is about more than microcopy. You’ll influence product direction, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and turn complex concepts into clear, actionable language. Content designers at Stripe are true partners in product development—from ideation to execution.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with product designers, PMs, engineers, researchers, and marketers to design end-to-end experiences for new users
- Plan and lead content discovery efforts to uncover user needs
- Deliver strategic content recommendations—such as naming frameworks, audits, or content requirements
- Craft onboarding flows, product narratives, navigation, and in-product copy
- Identify and test content hypotheses through experiments
- Facilitate content critiques and workshops; support other teams in writing and content creation
- Maintain and evolve style guides, naming systems, and shared language across products
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or content strategy
- Ability to explain complex, technical concepts in simple, clear language
- Experience designing content across multiple channels (web, product UI, email, etc.)
- Strong systems thinking—comfortable with large-scale IA work
- Writes with accessibility and inclusivity in mind
